Safety Planning
VOW Children Initiatives: Children who witness domestic violence are more likely to be affected by violence as adults either as victims or perpetrators. Exposure to violence and abuse impacts the emotional, social and physical development of children. This program is designed to assist youth traumatized by domestic violence between the ages of 7 to 12 who have displayed disruptive behavior. This 6 week course provides participants with a forum to explore topics such as self-worth, self-esteem, peer pressure, age appropriate behaviors, and social skills. Registration is required. All services are free of charge and confidential.
Counseling: Group and individual counseling from trained counselors for both children and adult clients. Therapy is designed to help individuals heal from traumatic violence while recognizing, understanding, and learning to modify behaviors. Childcare provided. Registration is required. All services are free of charge and confidential.
Parent Education Classes: Designed to help parents learn the fundamental skills of parenting. This 6 week course teaches the importance of balancing love and discipline, building self-esteem, positive reinforcements and how to prevent parent burnout. Childcare is available.

Empowerment Workshops:
Individual workshops on financial literacy, job training, resume writing, and other skills of independence. Registration is required. All services are free of charge and confidential.
VOW Teens: Designed to raise awareness on what constitutes a healthy and abusive dating relationship. Educate teens on dating abuse and its causes and consequences. A 6 week program, using comprehensive counseling format, teaches non-violent problem-solving skills and allows teens to understand the concept of toxic relationships and provide resources to help themselves and friend in dating relationships. Registration is required. All services are free of charge and confidential.
Legal Advocacy: Provide information on protection orders. Can assist you to court and offer referrals to free or low-cost lawyers knowledgeable about domestic violence.

VOW Advocates will explore all the options and answer questions about how to find a safe place to live.
